Jakes Steel & Welding commenced business in the Northern Territory in 1981. Our qualified boilermakers have strong capabilities across a number of different sectors, including architectural design and structural steel fabrication. We pride ourselves on our ability to meet specific safety regulations, while also meeting the stringent demands of our clients and their relevant industries.
Our Darwin workshop is within close proximity to Hot Dip galvanisers and industrial painters/blasters, allowing us to further reduce lead times. We are also situated close to Darwin Port and train lines for onsite welding or transport needs. Jakes Steel & Welding also provides complete transportation options for our steel works.

Site Works - Welding
Jakes Steel & Welding can perform structural welding to rebuild existing components or in the process of assembling new structures. Our workshop and mobile welding equipment can accommodate all types of welding projects.
Weld Testing
Jakes Steel & Welding can provide non-destructive testing of completed welds, to safeguard against any structural issues. Magnetic particle tests examine internal and external welds, checking for surface and sub-surface discontinuities in ferrous materials. This method can detect cracks or weak spots that could result in future breakdowns.
Magnetic particle tests can be conducted on a variety of steel componentry. Tests are completed onsite by a third-party person, with results produced in minutes. We can also recommend and facilitate repairs if these are required.

At Jakes Steel & Welding, we are committed to reaching our client's high expectations for all stages of the project. We can arrange the safe transportation of any fabricated work, structural and architectural steel designs.
We have our own tilt tray as well as a prime mover with extendable trailer. This allows us to deliver structures of varying sizes throughout the Northern Territory. Jakes Steel & Welding ensures timely delivery and assembly for your completed steelworks.
